Gottenberg, Sweden

This is a picture of Gottenberg, Sweden. It is a very beautiful town with pretty fountains commemorating Poesiden, beautiful gardens and lots of old history. Not very many old buildings have survived due to the fires over the years. Most buildings are made of wood.

  1. My grandfather was a native of Gottenberg. I have a wooden travel trunk to remember him by. His initials are carved in it: EAE, for Eskil Adolf Erickson. I have taught my grandsons to trace their fingers across the letters in order to help them remember his name. He came to New Haven, CT and lived to the ripe old age of 76. Most likely would have lived longer, had he not been hit by a car as he exited his favorite bar. Thanks for the photo, I hope I can visit Gottenberg some day.
